Wes Cowell

Mr. Cowell is a founding partner of the firm. Since 1991 he has concentrated his practice exclusively in the areas of divorce, custody, and all in family law and matrimonial matters. After graduating from the University of Chicago (1985), Mr. Cowell attended Chicago-Kent College of Law where he was a member of the Law Review. Mr Cowell was nominated by Appellate Court Justice Warren Wolfson to Chicago’s Lincoln Inn of Court – a most prestigious honor offered to only a handful of young, Chicago-area, trial advocates. He is licensed to practice in Illinois and has been recognized by the Supreme Courts of New York, New Jersey, California, Florida, and Indiana, to represent clients in family law matters in those jurisdictions. He has successfully tried numerous cases in Illinois and has successfully argued before the Illinois Appellate Court. Mr. Cowell has authored several works on divorce and family law. He is a member of the American Bar Association (Family Law Section), the Illinois State Bar Association (Family Law Section), and the Chicago Bar Association (Matrimonial Law Committee) and the Illinois Chapter of the Trial Lawyers of America.

Dean Taradash

A name partner in the firm, Mr. Taradash is a tireless advocate in divorce and custody cases and has devoted his career to individuals facing the trials and uncertainties of the family law courts. Mr. Taradash has extensive trial experience before the Domestic Relations courts of Illinois. Mr. Taradash has practiced matrimonial law throughout Illinois from Waukegan to Chester – some 60 miles south of St. Louis. He has been recognized by the Supreme Court of Indiana to represent parties in divorce and custody cases in that jurisdiction. Mr. Taradash is well known throughout the divorce law community as having a strong presence in the courtroom and a persuasive demeanor in settlement conferences. A 1999 graduate of Chicago-Kent College of Law, he is a member of the American Bar Association (Family Law Section), the Illinois State Bar Association (Family Law Section), and the Chicago Bar Association (Matrimonial Law Committee) and the Illinois Chapter of the Trial Lawyers of America.

Gordon Nelson

Mr. Nelson has spent the bulk of his legal career concentrating almost exclusively in the area of family law. A recent graduate of the Chicago-Kent College of Law, Mr. Nelson’s experience stems from two years of hands-on work, both practical and substantive, at The Law Offices of Chicago-Kent’s Family Law Clinic. Mr. Nelson has practiced solely in family law since his induction into the Bar and is well versed in every aspect. A 2001 graduate with honors in Political Science at Northern Illinois University, Mr. Nelson combines a dynamic young legal mind with a desire to succeed for his clients.

Sloane Baker

Ms. Baker focused her career interest on the dynamic of families and children from early on. After graduating with honors with a degree in Human Development and Family Studies from the University of Illinois, Champaign-Urbana, Ms. Baker graduated from The John Marshall Law School in Chicago. Throughout law school, Ms. Baker tailored her experiences to the area of family law, both clerking for a family law firm and volunteering as an advocate for abused and neglected children. Her strong commitment to families and children drives her practice in family law. Ms. Baker is a member of the American Bar Association (Family Law Division), Illinois State Bar Association (Family Law Section) and Chicago Bar Association.
